Stein is also a business man and communication conductor
Although Stein developed an early interest in art, he emerged as a significant figure in the art world later in life. After building a dynamic career as a business manager and tech entrepreneur, Stein began attracting attention as a visual artist at the age of 60. His recognition grew through his project "Livet etter leggetid" ("Life after Bedtime"), which launched in 2023. This body of work, inspired by the music, lyrics, and conversations with Kjartan Kristiansen (DumDum Boys)—a renowned Norwegian rock legend—highlighted Stein’s vibrant artistic identity.
Stein’s art stands out for its fusion of diverse traditions, drawing influences from classical masterpieces, pop art, street art and the drawings of children. He explores themes and techniques inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, and Hannah Ryggen, as well as numerous contemporary artists from varied cultural backgrounds. Typically working in medium to large formats, Stein develops his pieces through an organic process, allowing fragments of ideas to evolve naturally. This approach aims to capture the dynamic energy of unconscious creativity. His works are often described as cool, colorful, playful, surprising, and possessing a distinctly international and urban flair.
Transitioning from acrylics, Stein has found his preferred medium in spray paint and markers on canvas, while also experimenting with assemblage, collage, and digital art forms.
Today, Stein’s artwork is featured in offices, restaurants, event venues, and private homes, reflecting his growing presence and appeal within the art community.
